.....พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ทรงมีพระวิริยอุตสาหะทุ่มเทพระสติปัญญาและตรากตรำพระวรกายเพื่อค้นหาวิธีที่จะให้พสกนิกรของพระองค์มีความเป็นอยู่ที่ดี มีความร่มเย็นเป็นสุข พระองค์ทรงมีพระราชหฤทัยมุ่งมั่นที่จะแก้ไขปรับปรุงและพัฒนาประเทศและวิธีชีวิตของราษฎรให้อยู่ดีกินดี มีรายได้พอเพียงแก่การดำรงชีพ แปรเปลี่ยนความเดือดร้อนทุกข์ยากเป็นความสุขสมบูรณ์แบบยั่งยืน
.....พระราชดำริเพื่อการสร้างเขื่อนและพัฒนาแหล่งน้ำ ไม่เพียงเพื่อแก้ไขและช่วยบรรเทาความทุกข์ลำบากจากปัญหาน้ำท่วมและขาดแคลนน้ำเพาะปลูกเท่านั้น หากยังช่วยให้เกิดการพัฒนาการเกษตรแบบยั่งยืนเสริมอาชีพราษฎรให้มั่นคง สร้างชุมชนให้เข้มแข็งและพึ่งตนเองได้ตลอดไป

His Majesty the King has strong determination to consistently help improving and developing the Thai people’s way of living which in turn help to increase their income and bring about sustainable happiness to their lives.
.....His initiatives to construct dams and develop water resources not only remedy sufferings from flood and shortage of water for plantation, but also create the sustainable agricultural development. The projects enable Thai people to earn steady income and to maintain long-term self reliance community.

เขื่อนรัชชประภา จ.สุราษฎร์ธานี Rajjaprabha Dam, Surat Thani Province

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวพระราชทานนาม “เขื่อนรัชชประภา” มีความหมายว่า แสงสว่างแห่งราชอาณาจักร แทนชื่อเดิม “เขื่อนเชี่ยวหลาน” สร้างเสร็จในปี พ.ศ.๒๕๕๓ เป็นโครงการพัฒนาแหล่งน้ำที่สำคัญแห่งหนึ่งในภาคใต้ที่สร้างความมั่นคงให้แก่ระบบไฟฟ้า ความเจริญก้าวหน้าของเศรษฐกิจและสังคม ประชาชนอยู่ดีกินดี
His majesty the King has given the name “Rajjaprabha Dam” which means the light of the Kingdom to replace the former name of Chiew Larn Dam. Being completed in 1987. It has proven to be one of the most important water development projects in the South Region contributing to the well-being of the people, the reliability of the hydro-electric power system and the prosperity of the social and economic development.

เขื่อนขุนด่านปราการชล โครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ จ.นครนายก The Royal Initiated Khun Dan Prakarnchon Dam Project, Nakhon Nayok Province

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว มีพระราชดำริให้พิจารณาก่อสร้าง และพระราชทานนามว่า “เขื่อนขุนด่านปราการชล” แทนชื่อเดิม “เขื่อนคลองท่าด่าน” สร้างเสร็จปี ๒๕๔๗ เป็นเขื่อนคอนกรีตบดอัดยาวที่สุดในโลก สามารถกักเก็บน้ำเพื่อการเกษตรและการอุปโภค บริโภค ช่วยป้องกันน้ำท่วม และยังช่วยลดปัญหาดินเปรี้ยวได้อีกด้วย

His Majesty the King has initiated the construction idea and has named it “Khun Dan Prakranchon Dam” to replace the farmer name of Khuen Klong Tha Dan Dam. It was completed in 2004 and it is the longest reinforced concrete dam in the world. The water from the dam is for agricultural and consumption purposes. Besides. It also helps in the flood control as well as in the reduction of sail acidity.

โครงการพัฒนาลุ่มน้ำปากพนังอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ จ.นครศรีธรรมราช The Rayal Initiated Pak Panang Basin Development Project, Nakhon Srithammarat Provi

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวมีพระราชดำริให้พิจารณาก่อสร้างประตูระบายน้ำปากพนัง และพระราชทานชื่อว่า “อุทกวิภาชประสิทธิ” หมายถึง ประตูที่แบ่งแยกน้ำจืดและน้ำเค็มได้สำเร็จ คือ สามารถป้องกันน้ำเค็มรุกล้ำ เก็บน้ำจืดไว้ใช้ดำรงชีพในยามแล้ง ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ เพียงพอต่อการเพาะปลูกตลอดปี ราษฎรมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดี มีความสุขยั่งยืน สร้างเสร็จในปี พ.ศ.๒๕๔๒
His Majesty the King has initiated the construction of the Pak Panang Regulating Gate and has named it “Uthokvibhajaprasid” meaning the successful regulation between fresh and salt water because the gate could prevent salt water insemination as well as effectively conserve the fresh water for year-round consumption in the dry season. Being completed in 1999, the regulating gate has contributed to the well-being of the people in the surrounding areas.

เขื่อนป่าสักชลสิทธิ์ โครงการพัฒนาลุ่มน้ำป่าสักอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ Pasak Jolasid Dam - a Royally Initiated Pasak Basin Development Project

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวมีพระราชดำริให้พิจารณาก่อสร้างเขื่อนเก็บกักน้ำบนลุ่มน้ำป่าสัก และพระราชทานชื่อว่า “เขื่อนป่าสักชลสิทธิ์” หมายถึง เขื่อนแม่น้ำป่าสักที่กักเก็บน้ำได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ สร้างเสร็จในปี พ.ศ.๒๕๔๒ เป็นโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริเพื่อกักเก็บน้ำไว้ใช้ยามแล้ง และป้องกันน้ำท่วม
His majesty the King has initiated the construction idea of a dam over the pasak River Basin and has named it the “Pasak Jolasid Dam” or the dam over Pasak River with water conservation efficiency. It was completed in 1999 and serve as a reservoir in the dry season and a flood control in the rainy season.

อ่างเก็บน้ำเขาเต่าอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ จ.ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ The Royal Initiated Khao Tao Reservoir,

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว มีพระราชดำริให้สร้างอ่างเก็บน้ำขึ้นที่หมู่บ้านเขาเต่า อ.หัวหิน จ.ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ เพื่อกักเก็บน้ำจืดให้ราษฎรสำหรับทำการเพาะปลูกและอุปโภค บริโภค โดยได้พระราชทานพระราชทรัพย์ส่วนพระองค์เป็นทุนเบื้องต้นในการดำเนินการก่อสร้าง แล้วเสร็จในปี พ.ศ.๒๕๐๖ นับเป็นโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ ด้านชลประทานแห่งแรก
His Majesty the King has initiated the construction idea of a reservoir in Khao Tao Village. Huahin District. Prachuab Kirikhan Province to serve as a fresh water reservoir for the people’s consumption and agricultural use through His Private Fund as a first endowment for the construction. Being completed in 1963, it is the first rayally initiated project in irrigation.

เขื่อนอุบลรัตน์ จ.ขอนแก่น Ubolratana Dam, Khonkaen Province

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว พระราชทานพระบรมราชานุญาตให้เชิญพระนาม สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอเจ้าฟ้าอุบลรัตน์ราชกัญญา สิริวัฒนาพรรณวดี มาขนานนามว่า “เขื่อนอุบลรัตน์” แทนชื่อเดิม “เขื่อนพองหนีบ” สร้างเสร็จปี พ.ศ.๒๕๐๙ ถือเป็นแหล่งผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้าที่สำคัญในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ เอื้อประโยชน์ด้านชลประทาน การเกษตร การประมง และบรรเทาอุทกภัย
His Majesty the King has granted the royal permission for the use of Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya’s Name, to replace the former name of Pong Neep Dam to “Ubolratana Dam”. Being completed in 1966, it is considered as one of the main hydro-electric power generating in the Northeast Region. Contributing to the irrigation, the ogriculture, the fisheries and the flood control.

เขื่อนจุฬาภรณ์ จ.ชัยภูมิ Chulabhorn Dam, Chaiyapoom Province

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว พระราชทานพระบรมราชานุญาตให้เชิญพระนาม สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกยาเธอจ้าฟ้าจุฬาภรณ์วลัยลักษณ์ อัครราชกุมารี มาขนานนามเรียกว่า “เขื่อนจุฬาภรณ์” แทนชื่อเดิม “เขื่อนน้ำพรม” แล้วเสร็จสมบูรณ์ในปี พ.ศ.๒๕๑๖ เขื่อนแห่งนี้มีความสำคัญต่อการพัฒนาพลังงานไฟฟ้าในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ และยังประโยชน์ด้านการเพาะปลูก การประมง ส่งเสริมให้ประชาชนมีความกินดีอยู่ดี
His Majesty the King has granted the royal permission for the use of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhom’s Name to replace the former name of Nom Prom Dam to “Chulabhom Darm” This dam was completed in 1973 and piays a crucial role in the thdro-electric power generating in the North-east Region of Thailand besides benefiting the agriculture, the fisheries and the people’s well-being.

เขื่อนสิรินธร จ.อุบลราชธานี Sirindhorn Dam, Ubol Ratchathani Province

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว พระราชทานพระราชานุญาตให้เชิญพระนามาภิไธยของสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดา ฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี มาขนานนามเขื่อนว่า “สิรินธร” แทนชื่อเดิม “เขื่อนลำโดมน้อย” สร้างเสร็จในปี พ.ศ.2514 ให้ประโยชน์ด้านการผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้า มีน้ำเพียงพอต่อการทำการเกษตรและพัฒนาความเป็นอยู่ของประชาชน ป้องกันอุทกภัยและส่งเสริมการประมง
His Majesty the King has royal permission for the use of Her Royol Highness Princess Sirindhorn’s Name, to replace the former name of Lam Dome Hoi Dam to “Sirindhorn Dam”. The dam was completed in 1971 and has numerous benefits in the hydro-electric power generating the water supply, the flood control as well as the fisheries.

เขื่อนวชิราลงกรณ จ.กาญจนบุรี Vajiralongkorn Dam, Kanchanaburi Province

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าโปรดกระหม่อม พระราชทานพระนามาภิไธยสมเด็จพระบรมโอรสาธิราช ฯ สยามมกุฎราชกุมาร เป็นชื่อ “เขื่อนวชิราลงกรณ” แทนชื่อเดิม “เขื่อนเขาแหลม” เป็นเขื่อนหินถมแห่งแรกในประเทศไทย สร้างเสร็จเมื่อปี พ.ศ.2527 มีบทบาทสำคัญต่อภาคเกษตรกรรม อุตสาหกรรม เป็นแหล่งเพาะพันธุ์ปลาน้ำจืด เพิ่มพูนรายได้ และผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้าเพื่อประชาชน

เขื่อนศรีนครินทร์ จ.กาญจนบุรี Srinagarind Dam, Kanchanaburi Province

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว พระราชทานพระบรมราชานุญาตให้เชิญพระนามาภิไธยสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี มาขนานนาม “เขื่อนศรีนครินทร์” แทนชื่อเดิม “เขื่อนเจ้าเณร” เป็นเขื่อหินถมแกนดินเหนียวที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในประเทศไทย สร้างเสร็จในปี พ..2523 อำนวยประโยชน์ด้านการชลประทาน ผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้า ตลอดจนพัฒนาชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ของราษฎรให้ดีขึ้น
His Majesty the King has granted royal permission for the use of Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother’s Name as “Srinagarind Dam” instead of the former name of Chao Nen Dam. It is the largest rock-fill with clay axis dam in Thailand which was built in 1980. Besides being beneficial in the irrigation and hydro-electric power generating. It also contributed in the improvement of the people’s well-being.

เขื่อนสิริกิติ์ จ.อุตรดิตถ์ Sirikit Dam, Uttaradit Province

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว พระราชทานพระบรมราชานุญาตให้เชิญพระนามาภิไธย สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ มาขนานนามว่า “เขื่อนสิริกิติ์” เดิมชื่อ เขื่อนผาซ่อม สร้างเสร็จเมื่อปี พ.ศ.2520 เป็นเขื่อนดินที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในประเทศไทย อำนวยประโยชน์ด้านการชลประทาน การประมง บรรเทาอุทกภัย และผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้า
His Majesty the King has granted royal permission to use the name of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit as name of the dam. The “Sirikit Dam” whose former name was Pha Som Dam, was completed in the year 1977. It is the largest earth dam in Thailand and is useful to the irrigation, the fisheries, the flood control as well as the hydro-electric power generating.

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว พระราชทานพระบรมราชานุญาต ให้เชิญพระปรมาภิไธยมาขนานนามเขื่อนว่า “เขื่อนภูมิพล” และเสด็จพระราชดำเนินไปทรงประกอบพิธีเปิดเมื่อวันที่ 17 พฤษภาคม 2507 เดิมชื่อ เขื่อนยันฮี เป็นเขื่อนอเนกประสงค์แห่งแรกในประเทศไทย ลักษณะเป็นเขื่อนคอนกรีตรูปทรงโค้งที่ใหญ่และสูงที่สุดในเอเชียอาคเนย์ ถือเป็นต้นแบบของการพัฒนาระบบผลิตไฟฟ้าในประเทศไทย อำนวยประโยชน์ด้านการเกษตร การประมง นานัปการ
His Majesty the King had designated His Name to call the dam as “Bhumibol Dam” and His Majesty has came to unveil the plaque on May 17, 1964. This dam whose former name was Yanhee, is the first multipurpose dam in Thailand. It is also the largest and highest arch concrete dam in Southeast Asia and considered to be the prototype of the phdro-electric power generating system development in Thailand with numerous bensfits for the agriculture and the fisheries industry.
